About Yan Pekar

Hello and welcome! My name is Yan Pekar.
Creating artwork is my way of being honest with myself.
As a photography artist and educator, I specialize in creating fine artwork defined by clean, minimalist aesthetics and deep conceptual meaning.
My work is created for private collectors and for those seeking refined contemporary artwork for living and working spaces, pieces that do more than decorate, but evoke thought and emotion.
I am the creator of the concept “Photography as an Art of Seeing Beyond the Obvious.”
This approach transforms photography into a deeper, more intentional practice, one that captures not just images, but meaning.
This concept I developed is a set of techniques derived from military, martial arts, and psychology, which I apply to photography. These techniques help photographers achieve emotional balance and focus on the present moment.
Through the combination of imagery and text, my artwork prints are designed to create an emotional connection with the viewer.
I grew up in Murmansk, the largest city in the world north of the Arctic Circle, a place with no sunlight during winter days and no darkness during summer nights. This unique background influences my work today, resulting in minimalist artwork that complements modern interiors, from private homes to professional environments.
My fine artwork prints for private collectors and as decorations for living and working spaces are created with intention, balance, and clarity.
Each piece is designed to elevate interiors and offer a quiet, sophisticated presence.
For interviews, check out my feature in Metropolitan magazine titled "A Photographer's Thinking Space."
In addition to my artistic practice, I am an educator and corporate event reportage photographer.
